Sew Serene grew from a desire to “do it my way” and from a simple but powerful belief: that sewing is more than a technical skill — it’s a creative practice that builds confidence, calm, and connection.
After over 20 years working within the fashion industry and more than a decade of teaching, I wanted to create a space that combined the best of both worlds: professional expertise delivered with warmth, inclusivity, and a focus on well-being. A place where students can learn at their own pace, express themselves through making, and feel supported every step of the way.
I hold a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles, a PGCert in Academic Practice (Creative Arts), and I’m a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). These qualifications — paired with hands-on industry experience — mean I bring both technical depth and approachable teaching, ensuring lessons are structured, accessible, and enjoyable for every learner.
Alongside Sew Serene, I currently work as a Lecturer at the London College of Fashion, where I remain closely connected to contemporary teaching practice, new technologies, and the latest innovations in the fashion industry and education.
Creativity helps people feel more confident, more connected, and more grounded. Whether through group classes, workshops, or one-to-one sessions, Sew Serene aims to nurture those benefits while offering high-quality sewing and pattern cutting tuition
Sew Serene brings together professional skill and mindful making — empowering you to create beautifully, confidently, and with purpose.
I hope you’ll join me at Sew Serene soon and try one of our classes. Once you become part of the sewing community, you’ll be inspired and excited to keep creating.
