Teen Sewing taster workshop

Sunday 18th January  

2pm - 5pm 

 This relaxed, hands-on workshop is perfect for creative teens who want to try sewing for the first time. During three hours, learners will get to know the sewing machine, practise essential beginner techniques, and make their own lined tote bag to take home.

No experience needed — just enthusiasm! All fabric, materials, and equipment are provided, making this the perfect confidence-building introduction to sewing and a commitment free opportunity to give it a go!

• How a sewing machine works: threading, stitch settings, safe use
   
• Sewing straight seams and corners with control
   
• Pressing and finishing techniques for a neat result
   
• How to construct and line a simple tote bag
   
• Basic sewing terminology and fabric handling skills

 A fully lined tote bag — perfect for school, hobbies, or everyday use.
Learners can choose from a selection of fabrics to personalise their design on the day

 This workshop is designed for young people aged 13–17. All materials and equipment are provided, and the session is fully supervised by an experienced, DBS-checked educator. Please ensure a parent or guardian completes the booking on behalf of the learner and provides emergency contact details and any relevant medical or access information.

Learners should be dropped off and collected promptly at the session start and end times unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance.
