Learn to sew with confidence in this calm, supportive five-week course designed for beginners and returning sewists.
Whether you’ve never used a sewing machine before or you’re looking to refresh your skills, you’ll be guided step-by-step through the essential foundations of garment sewing in a relaxed and encouraging environment.
Across five sessions, you’ll learn how to confidently use your sewing machine, understand fabrics, and master key construction techniques through practical, hands-on projects. Each class includes clear demonstrations, guided practice, and plenty of time to sew with individual support.
As your confidence grows, you’ll have the opportunity to progress onto simple garment-making using patterns from Tilly and the Buttons. You’ll learn how to follow a commercial pattern, adapt it to fit your body, and explore a range of garment construction techniques that will set you up for future sewing success.
With small class sizes and expert tuition, you’ll build skills at your own pace and gain the confidence to continue sewing independently at home.
By the end of the course, you’ll feel comfortable using your sewing machine, understand key sewing techniques, and have completed projects you’ll be proud of—along with the skills to begin making your own clothes.
